The NASA Chief Says China Is Disguising Military Operations In Outer Space As "Civilian Programs"

“We believe that a lot of their so-called civilian space program is a military program. And I think, in effect, we are in a race,” Nelson added.

Fuck. No disrespect to the United States but these Chinese seem to be kicking our ass every which way these days. First we've got a report coming out (credit Jersey Jerry) that they've hacked into our critical infrastructure and are just waiting for the right time to strike, and now we've got the chief of NASA warning us that these little civilian programs the Chinese have been running up in outer space are actually military operations.

In other news, water is wet. Like, we knew the Chinese weren't up there holding book clubs and taste testing new foods through those liquid tubes, right? Turn the telescopes to the right, boys! This is what we have a Space Force for!

He said the US should land on the moon again before China does, as both nations pursue lunar missions. But he expressed concern that were Beijing to arrive first, it could say: “‘OK, this is our territory, you stay out.’”

Uhh, duh? In no way are they going to beat us to the moon and be like, hey Yanks, here's the blueprint of how to get here and also we'll save you a parking spot until you're ready. No, it us v. China in literally every aspect of life today. And while it's cool to have the best basketball players on our side (unless LeBron finally bites the bullet and chooses to go to China), one day they're going to beat us in something that really matters and we're going to be fucked.com. I feel like putting their military in outer space would qualify as one of those things that could hurt.

The US has been planning to put astronauts back on the moon in 2026 with its Artemis III mission. China says it hopes to send humans to the moon by 2030.

Alright this is a thought for a much different blog but can someone please explain to me how we landed on the moon in like what, 1969? and now we're trying to get back by 2026? I don't trust for one second that China is hoping to be there by 2030….they're probably 15 minutes away from night and we'll all be dead by dinner time tonight. But the question remains, how? I'm not a huge conspiracy guy but it's just not possible (unless someone can please explain this to me) how the entire world has gotten so much more technologically advanced in these last 40 years, but we now can't replicate something we've already done.

* I want it on record that I don't know shit about outer space, so if that was a dumb comment, I retract.

** By the way, we better be doing the same shit up there. If we're trying to explore space and learn cool new things, we need a change in leadership in NASA. I want to establish a militaristic dominance first, not allow anyone else onto the moon, and then we can look at stars and shit.
