Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are facing backlash even as the new Indian Premier League (IPL) season is 5 months away.

RCB took to social media to tweet to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on Tuesday, congratulating them for their efforts towards helping find Vikram, the lander deployed in India's Chandrayaan-2 mission that hard landed earlier this year.

NASA said on Tuesday that it successfully found the debris of Vikram lander on the lunar surface with the help of inputs from a Chennai-based techie Shanmuga Subramniam.

RCB made a special request to NASA after the congratulatory message.

"Congratulations @isro. Watching #Chandrayan2 take off was a fantastic sight! P.S. We have a special request for you, on behalf of our batsmen," RCB wrote on Twitter.

"Could the #NASA team that found #VikramLander also help us find the cricket balls hit by ABD & Virat," the franchise wrote.

Unimpressed by the remark RCB made on social media, fans, including some of the franchise's own, took jibes, asking them to up their social media game.

From asking RCB to first find their IPL trophy to find better bowlers at the upcoming auction, here are some of the reactions to RCB's tweet.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will resume their quest for their maiden IPL title in the upcoming 13th season. Former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson was appointed as the Director of Cricket while former Australia batsman Simon Katich was roped in as head coach.

RCB parted ways with former coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Asish Nehra after another unimpressive season in 2019 wherein they managed just 5 wins in 14 matches.
