First official cooperation between NASA and the Hellenic Space Agency

Representatives of the Hellenic Space Agency participated in the International Astronautical Congress held in Bremen. The conference unanimously decided to collaborate with space agencies around the world to prepare and implement an international mission to the Moon.

NASA is the head of this international mission and Greece will participate in the mission "demonstrating that it is an equal partner in space events and that it can promote Greek scientists and Greek academic institutions to major missions."

The Hellenic Space Agency has already issued a call for ideas.

The Agency has received plans by 10 reputable academic institutions, research centres and independent researchers to be studied and sent to NASA for further evaluation and possible exploitation of the mission to be carried out in 2020 with the 'Orion' spacecraft.
