LAHORE - Massive rallies in support of the Pakistan Armed Forces surged through the streets of Lahore on Saturday, marked by fiery speeches, slogans, and the symbolic burning of Modi statue and Indian, Israel flags amid heightened national sentiment following Pakistan’s strong military response to Indian aggression. The Central Muslim League organized a large-scale rally on The Mall. Led by party leader Dr Muzammil Hashmi, the rally began at Istanbul Chowk and concluded at the Punjab Assembly Hall. A large number of party leaders and supporters participated, chanting patriotic slogans and expressing solidarity with the armed forces. Demonstrators set fire to Indian and Israeli flags, and a symbolic effigy of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not only burned but publicly beaten before being torched. Dr Muzammil Hashmi declared the day as a “Day of Victory,” saying, “Lahore’s brave citizens and the entire nation deserve congratulations. Today, Pakistan’s armed forces have shattered the arrogance of the enemy. Modi’s war hysteria has been washed into the River Ravi.” He added that Pakistan’s military has proven its capability to defend the homeland and deliver a decisive response.
“The nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its army, and every Pakistani feels proud of this great victory,” he said, urging unity and gratitude across the country. In a parallel show of solidarity, the Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat Mahaz also led a grand “Defence of Pakistan Rally,” which started at Data Darbar and concluded at Nasir Bagh.
