NASA captures Moon appearing to pause and move in reverse

A Nasa post on on the 6th of March, stated that the Moon started to transit across the sun then doubled back and retraced its steps in the other direction.

Well, that's what it looked like from Nasa's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) in orbit around Earth, which sent back puzzling data and images.

The space agency explained that the Moon's unusual apparent behaviour during this particular transit is a phenomenon similar to retrograde motion of celestial objects. This causes objects to appear to move backwards because of the way that different objects move at different speeds at different points in their orbits.
